THE REDEEMER Empty The Redeemer (2.0)

Post  Ikuno Mon May 25, 2009 9:24 pm

Descending from the Aztek Warriors there was a priest, whose experience and uniqueness were more than enough as to unite people as a team. His name was Wakeke, a Blood Elf. Guided by his own will, he decided to leave the Aztek Warriors to create another crest, formed with people in need of knowledge and partners who would help them in their search for experience and pleasant moments of fun and team play. Wakeke got enough members as to start a good guild, and later he associated with a player whose expectative was the same and shared their objectives. His name was Boombat, a Troll Shaman. Looking to redeem these people from the Alliance against their races and become better players, they called their new Guild “The Redeemer”. Starting in Thunder Bluff with no more than 10 former members, Boombat, Wakeke and their followers gained confidence and the admiring of other players while creating good raids in big dungeons like Black Temple, and so they started to recruit new members.
For august 2008 The Redeemer was a group of more than a hundred people. Unfortunately for this date, the Shaman Boombat, who was already leading the group, was forced by external business to quit World of Warcraft, and the lead was left to the Priest Wakeke. The Blood Elf made his best to keep the gang united, and The Redeemers kept on wining gear and experience in their raids. They came through the loss of their dear previous leader successfully, but drama inside the group didn’t seem to end with that.
During the rest of the existence of this group, there were betrayals, replacements, restrictions, kicks and welcomes, sometimes due to great players who were believed to be loyal but they decided to leave the gang for no real good reason. Other reason for drama was people who were friendly invited, but after a short time it was obvious that they were there only to steal from the Guild Bank or to ask for gold and leave after that. These are only two examples, and there were many more.
There were also tragedies, for example the Second in Command of the Guild, the great General Pigsa, who bravely joined a raid with other people out of the guild, to help them. Close to fight a boss in that dungeon, one of the raiders dared to use “Flyhack”, which caused all of the members of the raid to be banned for 2 YEARS, including Pigsa.
This player tried to create another character to get as good as Pigsa was, but the pain for the loss in the group and for himself was so bad that he ended leaving, never to be seen by Redeemers again.

For October 2008, Wakeke created a web page to use as a forum for The Redeemer’s members, and the Guild Generals, the Blood Elf Priest Lidvarion, the Undead Rogue Cadavru, the Undead Warrior Pititisch and the Lieutenant Elite, the Undead Warlock Ikuno were assigned as Administrators of the The Redeemer’s home page.
This seemed to guide members to the unification, and they passed through amazing moments, like beating Archimonde with 8 people, other great Guild Raids, completing events together, and much, much more.
December 8th, 2008 in Hyjal Summit, somebody from other guild asked the Redeemers there if they were always so united and made those great raids, and Wakeke’s answer was…
“We developed friendship. That’s the key”.

But the worse was still to come…

By half of December 2008 Wakeke disappeared.
None of the Generals, Lieutenants or other members knew where he was. After more than a whole month he came back out from nowhere, and asked Ikuno to communicate the rest of the players about his return and his play schedule from that day on.
Members of The Redeemer were surprised and happy after waiting for him for so long. And although he gave an explanation to the rest, and was accepted, he didn’t last much time. After one week he disappeared again, this time for more, much more time.

The Generals, Lieutenants and the rest of the members waited for him loyally, but he still didn’t show up.
Three of the most active players, the Generals Lidvarion, Cadavru and the Lieutenant Ikuno were still in contact even when they didn’t seem to arrange a daytime to play together as before. They were wondering if their leader had just quitted, or if he had had some kind of serious trouble in real life.
Wakeke’s disappearing meant the death of The Redeemers: many great members got tired of waiting and they finally left the guild to go on with other people or even by themselves. Many others just quitted playing. The ashes of the group remained standing by…

One day Ikuno told the General Pititisch that she had spoken with the other Generals, and Pititisch remembered that he had talked to another old member of the Guild, who had told him that there was nothing wrong with Wakeke, he had just quitted playing WoW. Pititisch also told her that even though he wasn’t playing anymore since he didn’t have internet anymore, he didn’t miss playing.
Ikuno thought that it was ok if one of the many Generals didn’t play anymore, but she was disappointed by her leader. She had started playing because she wanted to do something fun with her boyfriend Pititisch, but once she got into the game it was Wakeke who had been her master besides Pititisch. She remembered Pititisch’s whispers on her first raid ever: “Obey Wakeke”.
In March 2008, Ikuno logged in the Guild Web Page and talked to Cadavru, who told her that he had found Wakeke on internet in other game 2 days ago. Cadavru had asked the leader if he was still playing, and the only answer he got from the Priest was “No”.
So sad… Ikuno said that as a leader, if he is going to leave his Guild, the least thing he must do is letting them know, and pass the lead to somebody else.
While they were waiting for Wakeke, only few members had permission to invite new people, which restricted a lot the number of members, many left after leader’s disappearing act, the guild was dying… And Ikuno found it really unfair to see the team falling and the leader’s face was not there to explain what happened. He didn’t answer mails in the game, or private messages in the web page… Nothing at all.
She was so disappointed that she told General Cadavru about her beliefs, and he agreed, so as she found it fair to let the others know the real situation, she wrote it in their forum for them to be able to take a right decision.

The Redeemer’s fate was now about to reveal.

Approaching the end of the month of March of same year, Ikuno found a message of Wakeke in the forum, right below her post. He said that he had not quitted WoW and he would be back in less than a month.
To this, General Lidvarion proposed the idea of starting a new Guild with Wakeke as a leader again.
The Lieutenant didn’t know how far that would last, so she proposed something else.
Her idea was creating a new guild in which the four of them would share the leadership, for the tragedy of one leader’s disappearing not to happen again. She also published in their forum a guide with some rules to follow for the rebirth of the guild. The others would post with their opinions. The first one in agreeing was the priest Lidvarion, under the name of the Druid Antemos.
Time passed… Emptiness filled the name of what once was a great crest of amazing friends and team mates. Cadavru, Lidvarion and Ikuno felt the distance among them, and somehow they knew they were the only three who really, really cared about the situation. Was it hard or wrong to concern about a compromise they had all taken? Logically, no. Maybe it had something to do with the game itself. According to the day’s news, the server was falling down due to lack of maintenance, bugs, and to greedy Game Masters or administrators who wanted to make lots of money, so they made the game more difficult to persuade players to buy gear and other important things with real money. This had definitely made a lot of good players lose interest on keeping in the game. But, was it related with the Guild’s sudden death?
These times needed a real Redeemer to keep going ahead.

On May 2009 WoWScape updated to Wrath of the Lich King, and with this rebirth, another came under it’s wing…

Wakeke was back, just as if the earth broke in two and from the scar in the ground came a smooth light…
Was it to shine once again? Was it to illuminate a brief moment? … Only time would tell.
